For the last 25 years, I have been acting as a computional scientist at the service of National Institutions like Los Alamos National Laboratory, the French Atomic Commission of Energy (CEA), the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), as a research engineer in R&D department of Electricité de France (EDF), or as a technical leader at Cap Gemini involved in consulting missions for Hewlett-Packard, Alcatel Lucent, ST MicroElectronics or Lexmark.

My missions were all related to resource tuning either in an high performance or embedded context in domain as diverse as ocean modeling, nuclear safety, telecom high availability service optimization, embedded driver programming, kernel porting feasibility or technical survey and realization of proof of concept on strategic market trends. Since 1992, as a benchmark expert, I have been involved in the procurement and acceptance of five supercomputers all listed in the top 20 at their inauguration.

I joined KAUST Supercomputing Laboratory in 2013. Besides being a point of contact for industrial users and taking care of user support classical tasks (training, software installation and tuning), my mission consists in facilitating the use of KAUST’s HPC resource through the development of innovative tools. my research interests focus on making the user experience of KAUST supercomputer Shaheen II as transparent as possible. I am the developer of breakit and decimate, two tools extending the scheduler capabilities in managing jobs per thousands or the execution of complex workflows of dependent jobs making them fault-tolerant to hardware or numerical failures. I also designed a web based engine allowing a post-mortem analysis of Shaheen's workload as well as an internal testing framework used to perform non-regression study of KAUST's HPC environment
